Alamosa Tree Lists

Trees are a long-term investment. While our elevation (7,500 ft), cold winters (zone 3-4), seasons of high wind, and arid climate (6 in. rain per year) can be challenges to growing healthy trees in Alamosa, there are many that can do well.

We have three recommended tree lists:

Alamosa Tree Index: Lists all the trees recommended for Alamosa.
Alamosa Tree Board Recommended Index: Lists the trees specifically recommended by the Board.
Alamosa Tree Finder: This form allows you to enter specific criteria and see which trees match up.

There are several trees that are NOT recommended. They are either on the Colorado State Noxious Weed List or have other characteristics that make them less desirable in our region.
